Overview

The City of Cape Town General Valuation Roll GV2025 will be published and open for objections from 20 February 2026. These values will be used to determine the new rates and taxes for your property, which will come into effect on 1 July 2026. The market value of properties is based on the value as at 1 July 2025. Cape Town property owners will receive notices during February 2026 of the new valuation (market value) of their properties. The objection period will close on 30 April 2026. Once valuation roll is published, you will be able to obtain the new valuation on-line at the advertised website address. You can also call at the various centres where officials are able to assist you.
